Hogwarts School Rules
Dress Code
Hogwarts students must be in a uniform whenever they are in a class or official school event in character or risk losing points for their house, unless an announcement has been made to allow for different attire. In Hogsmeade and London, in Quidditch matches, and outside of the classroom or an official event, they may wear decent teen attire. Dress code for students may be amended for special events and in situations dictated by the Headmistress. Attire and jewelry must not contain bling scripts.
Male Hogwarts Students Uniform
White, grey, or black collar shirt, house tie, black or dark grey pants or house kilt, and closed-toed shoes. Undergarments must not be visible.
Optional items include a black house cloak, house sweater, vest, and house scarf. Male students may wear modest chain necklaces, earrings, or bracelets. Muggle watches would not work within Hogwarts bounds, but male players may carry a fob watch.
Female Hogwarts Students Uniform
White, grey, or black collar shirt, house tie or bow, black, dark grey, or house-themed skirt, dress, kilt, or pants, and closed-toe shoes. Skirts must be longer than mid-thigh. Undergarments must not be visible.
Optional items include a black house cloak, house sweater, vest, and house scarf. Female students are limited to very simple jewelry: hair bows, hair bands, fob watches, a modest chain necklace, earrings, or bracelets.
Everyday Student Attire
Student attire should be appropriate for a modest child or teenager. Skirts and shorts should not be above fingertip length. Tops must not show cleavage or be revealing in any way. Students under 13 may not show midriffs.
Pets
The policy for Hogwarts student pets has been widened since Harry Potter's time. Any student may bring an owl in addition to another single pet.
Students may have a cat, small dog, pygmy puff, ferret, rat, mouse, or toad in their common room dormitories. Owls must reside in the owlery. Slytherins make keep snakes in the glass cages in the Slytherin common room. Snakes, amphibians, large dogs, small birds, and bats may reside in the Care of Magical Creatures laboratory. Any other special pet must be approved through special application.
Flying
Flying is allowed on brooms. If you are a student, flying outside the pitch may be punishable via loss of house points by a member of the Hogwarts staff. If you are an adult, you may not fly within the confines of Hogwarts school.
